Pro-life communities throughout Connecticut are uniting to bring "The 40 DAYS FOR LIFE" (40DFL) campaign to Bridgeport beginning Wednesday, March 9 and ending on Sunday, April 17. These forty days of prayer will be held on the public sidewalk in front of The Summit Women's Center on 3787 Main Street. Bridgeport is just one of 247 cities involved from coast to coast trying to bring an end to the harm done to women and children from abortion. Since 2004, one thousand eighty-five 40 DFL campaigns have been conducted in 337 cities across the United States. Abortion rates have been dramatically reduced in the participating communities.
40 Days For Life is a three-point program that focuses on:
1.) Prayer and fasting.
2.) Peaceful vigil at abortion facility.
3.) Grassroots educational community outreach.
“There are many people here in Connecticut who want to see these abortion facilities closed because they are against God’s laws and the good of our country. This 40 Days for Life is a clear sign that the pro-choice side is shrinking, and the pro-life side is shining more brightly every day.” Fr. Greg J. Markey, St. Mary's Church, Norwalk
"We are believing God to do miraculous things during the 40 DAYS OF LIFE ! We are praying for baby killing to end in our community. Jesus said "The gates of Hell cannot prevail against His Church. We are the Church. Jesus is the head, we are His body." Marilyn Carroll, Operation Save America - Connecticut
